PADI - the Professional Association of Diving Instructors - is the world largest and most popular diver training organization, with local offices, instructors, and retail dive centers in more than 90 countries around the world.

PADI Instructors are highly trained professionals who have qualified to conduct PADI diver courses by meeting diving highest instructor training standards.

		PADI dive centers and resorts specialized in diver education, have met strict business and professional standards. In the Instructor Development Course diving skills and knowledge are applied to learn to teach the PADI system in the classroom, confined water and open water. Topics include teaching PADI modular scuba course, lesson planning and presentation, and demonstration quality diving skills. On successful completing the Instructor Development Course you are able to enroll the PADI Instructor Exam (IE) to qualify and receive your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating. The IE is a two days evaluation program that test you, the instructor candidate, in your teaching ability, dive theory knowledge, waterskill level, understanding of the PADI system, attitude and professionalism.

If you are already a PADI Assistant Instructor or you are a Scuba Instructor affiliated with other certification organizations (crossover) you only have to attend the OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor) program and on succesful completion, go directly on to the IE (Instructor Exam).
These options allow candidates to plan appropiate breaks in training to further hone their knowledge, skills and leadership availabilities.
